Will Kyrgyzstan's Government Heed Demands to Resign

The Russian news agency Interfax reported that Ravshan Zheyenbekov, a candidate who lost in Kyrgyzstan's recent parliamentary elections, told one of its correspondents on March 22, 2005 that "The population of the Talas region in northern Kyrgyzstan has joined the southern regions in demanding the resignation of the government and announced plans to create its own government."
